At 80 years old, Libby Houston still climbs the 300-foot cliffs of Bristol's Avon Gorge (UK), studying the region's rare plant life. This is the story of her life's entanglement with the environment. Libby arrived in Bristol in the 1970s, grieving the loss of her husband and without the vibrant scene of British beatnik poets and artists in London she'd come to call home. Her enthusiasm for rock-climbing and her poet's eye combined with a newfound love of botany. This dedication filled her sense of loss and led to a host of new discoveries, establishing the area among the most important botanical sites in the UK. But as it stands, there is only one known member of her namesake discovery - Houston's Whitebeam. Reflecting on its inevitable extinction prompts Libby to contemplate her own legacy.
