Beach Clean at Portvoller beach near Tiumpan Head

Come and help make a difference to this Lewis shore. Meet at Portvoller What3Words///patching.rely.bronze., The W5 bus from Stornoway gets in at 9:30. If you are bringing a car pleases park thoughtfully.

This beach clean is being held in association with Clean Coast Outer Hebrides, a local charity SC049307 that does much more than beach cleans; they campaign, educate, inform and inspire about marine environment issues including dangers of marine litter to wildlife, and climate change..

High tide is at 8:00am so will be falling at the start time of 10:00am.

Bags and gloves will be provided but make sure that you have stout footwear as the beach is shingle. Bring the gathered marine litter back to our trailer where it will be weighed
and sorted, and everything recyclable will be separated appropriately.

This event is weather dependent. In wild wet and windy conditions it may not be safe to proceed so the event may have to be rescheduled.
